Introduction of self

Spring of 2020 was a life changing year that forced me to not only confront a global pandemic, but a cancelled graduation, a break up with a long term partner, & anti-Blackness amidst the George Floyd murder, all while questioning how I would survive post-grad without work authorization! I was having an identity crisis of what it means to be Black in this country and the point of existence since my life is easily disposable to the state. My radical awakening to the innate criminalization of Black people paralyzed me with fear not only due to my Blackness, but my Undocumented identity as well!

Coming to terms with the constant amount of self policing and vigilance I have to enforce on myself was truly heartbreaking. Not only do police encounters pose as a death threat for me, but being Black & Undocumented increases my risk for immigration detention and deportation! Acknowledging and accepting the fragility of my reality was arguably the lowest point in my life.

Fortunately, spirituality found me when I needed it the most. In my darkest hour, I learned about a book entitled DNA In The Sands Of Time by J Justice. It discusses the unknown knowledge of the spiritual evolution of human DNA from the beginning to the end. As a spiritual beginner, this is exactly what I needed and set a great foundation on action required to connect back to my soul. By the end of the book, I was empowered with all this knowledge but the hard part that came afterwards was the application. Throughout my blogs, I hope to share spiritual tools I’ve learned and how to best apply them effectively.
