Patience as a virtue
Lately, I have struggled cultivating patience due to feeling stuck in life. I have a vision for where I want to be, but the journey to get there feels slow-moving. It has forced me to reflect on the importance of being present and paying attention to what is happening right now instead of what is yet to come.
It is important to envision your future and set intentional goals towards your dreams. However, it is easy to get caught up in the future version of yourself that you forget to appreciate your current self. The journey is just as important as the desired destination. The evolution of self throughout the process is instrumental in aligning with your future timeline.
Being present, especially during mundane daily activities, requires a lot of intention. In a world that forces us to work for survival and constantly be on the move, it can be incredibly hard to practice patience. Patience allows us to slow down and be still. Exercising patience requires trusting the process, even when you don’t see a direct pathway to your vision.
Having faith in yourself is a powerful driving force that will ground you in times of uncertainty. We live in a society that demands immediate results, which reduces our attention span and ability to wait. The need for constant convenience at the expense of appreciating the process has created a false sense of urgency within me. This can further lead to anxiety, disrupting the nervous system, which causes mental and physical distress.
Trusting my intuition by knowing I am currently exactly where I am meant to be is a helpful grounding practice. But faith should be accompanied by actions towards your desired goals. Taking action towards what is within your control and leaving what is beyond your control to faith is a reminder that we are co-creators with the universe.
