Sexual Liberation

What does sexual liberation mean to you? For me, sexual liberation involves having an intentional relationship with your body, and unapologetically tapping into your sensuality. As cliche as it sounds, your body is your temple, and how you feel about it impacts your sexual confidence. Therefore, learning to love and accept your body is a great step to feeling desirable and unlocking your sensuality!

Affirming your body, not only through words, but intentional actions, will help you feel attracted to self. For example, styling yourself in clothes that make you feel good will help boost sex appeal. Additionally, doing mirror work by embracing your self reflection can help dismantle body insecurities you may face. The ultimate goal of such actions is to become comfortable enough in exploring your sexual desires through self pleasure.

Mastrubation is a great way to tap into the limitless ways you can experience pleasure. Once you are in tune with your sexuality, you are empowered to be vocal about your pleasure during sexual encounters. The more autonomy you have over your pleasure, the more liberated you will feel about your sexuality. Sex is something no one should feel shamed about. Unfortunately, cis-heteropatriachy has convinced the collective that sex is for the male gaze or solely for reproductive purposes. Therefore, reclaiming your sexuality involves rejecting these ideologies that aim to control and suppress a person’s choice.

If you genuinely feel enamored with yourself, why would you settle for anyone that feels otherwise? If you are capable of satisfying yourself sexually, why would you settle for relationships that do not fulfill that desire? Ultimately, the real question comes down to whether your idea of being sexually liberated is rooted in societal norms or genuine self determination.
