Solar Return Reflection

In honor of my birthday, I would like to reflect on what this past profection year has taught me. According to Hellenistic astrology, profection years are based on the connection between a person’s age and the astrological house associated with that age. On my last birthday, I entered my 2nd house profection year which is the house of values and resources. In my birth chart, Saggitarius rules my second house so let us review how these themes have influenced me.

Based on my 2nd house influence, I have learned to value my time as a currency. I have prioritized time with myself and have been much more intentional about who receives my energy. I have learned to value my peace over engaging in activities that drain my energy. In addition, I have learned that my material stability is tied to my spiritual stability.

The Sagittarius influence on my 2nd house made me value the expansion of my higher knowledge. To better understand my life, I pursued learning more about astrology as a divination tool. This has allowed me to find a language with the universe through astrological confirmations. Saggitarius has also influenced my pursuit of creativity through writing.

I recently got a writing internship which is allowing me to express my creativity and expand my writing abilities. I now realize my creative expression is something I value deeply which is why I prioritized exploring it.  The overall theme of my 2nd house profection year was learning to value my internal resources. Beyond my spirituality, one of my most valuable internal resources is my willpower. I often underestimate it but I am learning to appreciate my ability to see the light in the darkest times. I look forward to entering my 3rd house profection year this birthday, and can’t wait for the lessons it has to offer.
