Trusting your Intuition
When I embarked on my spiritual journey, the first thing I needed to learn was how to decipher my intuition. What did it actually look and feel like in my body? Due to my inquisitive nature, I always questioned any spiritual information I came across before fully accepting it. In time, I came to realize that I gravitate towards what emotionally speaks to me. My soul clearly recognizes what resonates which feels like a gut inner knowing in my body.
So how do you recognize your soul to easily access your intuition? Having a relationship with self is key! Getting to know yourself outside of social indoctrination will allow you to access your truest self which is your soul. Deconstructing why you think the way you do, and what influences you to think that way, dismantles the idea of who you actually are! Through this identity crisis process, you actually get to meet the real you and recognize your intuition with ease.
Once you recognize your intuition, the next challenge is trusting your gut. While existing in a capitalistic and anti-Black world, I find it very difficult to always trust my intuition due to self limiting doubts that stem from childhood socialization. It’s definitely a never ending process of pushing back against those doubts through affirmations, and strengthening my relationship with self to recognize my true voice! Since we are conditioned to survive, it is very difficult to relinquish control and trust your intuition. But no matter how scary it feels, it’s important to shower that fear with love. Otherwise, you lead a perpetual life of survival vs thriving which is what you should aspire to.
